The average (net) salary in the IT sector in Bulgaria is nearly BGN 5,411, according to Noble Hire's survey conducted in October. Compared to last year, when it was BGN 4,120.
The highest salary in the IT sector in Bulgaria is an Executive / C-Level, whose average (net) salary is BGN 10,757 (Based on 113 people, out of a total of 3,289).
The second highest salary in the field remains that of "Software Architect" - BGN 10,064, followed by "Team Lead" with an average (net) salary of BGN 7,526.
In the survey for 2022, a total of 3,828 people took part, with 1,662 (43.4%) of them working in a Bulgarian company, and 2,166 (56.6%) in an international one. The most people - 800 in number - are from a company with a size of 51-200 employees, and 246 people are in a small company of 1-10 employees.
We also observe interesting statistics regarding the number of people who participated in relation to the office location - 75.1% of people indicate that they work in Sofia, 2.3% - outside Bulgaria and 10.8% do not have an office or work entirely remotely.
Compared to last year's data, the average (net) remuneration of almost all positions in the IT sector in Bulgaria shows an increase in wages, with the exception of "Hardware Engineering", where we observe a decrease - 4,170 BGN. (BGN 5,176 for 2021)
The average (net) salary for Front-end in Bulgaria, statistics show, is BGN 4,318, compared to last year, when it was BGN 3,593. As for specialists, without experience, it is in the amount of BGN 1,965. and reaches BGN 7,805 for experts with over 10 years of experience.
There is also a difference in the average values in the capital (BGN 4,435) compared to other cities in Bulgaria - BGN 3,391 (Plovdiv) and BGN 4,250 (Varna). The participants in the study who work abroad indicated significantly higher values - BGN 7,700. The salary is also higher for those who do not have an office or work entirely remotely - BGN 6,069.
